HGN News

February! The days are lengthening rapidly and spring beckons – almost. We’ve set up a range of online events to get us all thinking and planning for later in the year. Mostly – but not 100% – from HGN members. (Remember that HGN can provide a platform for our member groups to reach a wider audience – get in touch if you want to discuss an idea.)
So – our fabulous February starts Tuesday 6 February with a 5pm talk on How can we recover nature in Herefordshire? Jamie Audsley of Hfds Wildlife Trust will detail their response to loss of habitat and species, and there will be plenty of time for discussion. Get the Zoom invitation by signing up here

On 22 February there’s a lunchtime talk from Sue Riddlestone of Bioregional, describing some of their work with communities to ‘do things differently’ when it comes to planning. More information and booking to follow.

29 February (yes, there is a 29th this year!) we’ll be focusing on the activities, achievements and plans of Herefordshire Climate and Nature Partnership. Speakers at this lunchtime talk will include the current Chair, James Marsden. More information and booking to follow.

And then, at 7pm on Tuesday 5 March, a real treat. In this online workshop on  Deepening the roots of resilience: Alan Heeks shares insights from his new book, Natural Happiness, showing how we can use parallels with organic cultivation to nourish our resilience, both individual and community. See more at www.naturalhappiness.net.  More information and booking to follow.
And while you’re wondering about priorities for the year ahead, HGN would love to hear from anybody who would like to apply to join our Steering Group. We rotate our membership and some spaces are coming up. So do get in touch through our email:  admin@hgnetwork.org
