Ban on Domestic Flights

The campaign group ‘Flight Free UK’ has just launched a petition asking the government to ban domestic flights where there’s a direct rail link of 4.5 hours or less. ‘Flight Free UK’ have calculated that transferring the two most-used flight routes in the UK to rail, London-Edinburgh and London-Glasgow, would save  1.75 million tonnes CO2 per year.

The French government introduced a similar ban earlier this year and they would be grateful for your support in putting pressure on the UK government.
