Support for Mozambique

On Tuesday 7th December, Friends of the Earth groups around the country are handing in letters to their MPs to draw attention to the human rights abuses faced by people in Mozambique arising from the development of gas extraction. National Friends of the Earth will challenge in court the UK Government’s decision to provide huge financial support for this gas development. The development would add several billion tonnes of carbon to the atmosphere. If the UK Government continues to fund this project, it will contradict UK current domestic policy and international agreements, and make it even harder for UK statements on tackling climate change to be taken seriously.
Herefordshire Friends of the Earth will meet quietly outside the office of Jesse Norman, Penn House, Broad Street, at 2:30 pm on 7th December, to hand in our  letter to Jesse Norman. If you would like to join us, you will be very welcome
