When the bus service between Newent, Ledbury and Ross was withdrawn, the local authorities were not willing to step in so Buses4Us was launched to fight for its future. The result…the Daffodil Line, bus 232, was launched in April 2023 as a community led initiative. Professor Les Lumsdon tells the story of how this came about and the success factors which have led to the service carrying over 24,000 passengers in its first 6 months. Could a similar scheme between Leominster and Kington be developed?
