Herefordshire farmers are currently busy combine harvesting, and you might be busy keeping a vegetable patch watered! But we hope you’ve found time to embrace summer food: sun-ripened fruit, eating outdoors and slowing down to savour seasonal, locally grown produce. At the same time, the recent heatwaves and ongoing lack of rain are stark reminders of the growing challenges climate change presents for food production, making resilient local food systems more important than ever. CPRE, a gold member of HGN, have been successful in funding for another season of Hedgerow Heroes, starting in October with hedge laying courses (dates tbc) and hedge planting from November 2026 until April 2027.
