We’re going to be greener! Being green can be confusing. At least, that’s what we’ve heard from members, potential members, councillors, potential funders … So to clarify the organisation’s political independence, the steering group of Herefordshire Green Network has pondered potential name changes for ages. Then came the lightbulb moment (very low wattage LED of course) – we could be ‘Greener’! So in the course of the coming weeks we’ll be changing to ‘Herefordshire Greener Network’. No need to change our initials, no need to change our web address or email addresses. Just a simple adjustment that we hope will make things

It’s time to welcome three new members to HGN’s steering group, bringing a wealth of talent and experience. Richard Urbanski, Gordon Coppock and I have been joined by Heather Gorringe, Jonathan Hofstetter, and Lynne Bowers. A long-term Hereford resident with a professional background in health and social care policy, Lynne Bowers is a long‑standing advocate for sustainability, community resilience and climate action across Herefordshire. She’s been active in local sustainability networks for many years, supporting groups across Herefordshire to strengthen community‑led climate responses. Lynne is passionate about collaborative approaches that protect Herefordshire’s landscapes, empower local people, and accelerate progress towards
HGN is holding a series of Starting and Running a Local Environment Group workshops at which participants can hear about how to set up a group and get ideas for inclusive activities that local groups can organise.
On Tuesday February 10th from 10.30am – 12.30pm the third event in the series will be held at De Koffie Pot, Hereford. Register now to join this session and you will be sent more details and the notes from the previous two sessions nearer the time.
