Introducing HGN’s new steering group members!

It’s time to welcome three new members to HGN’s steering group, bringing a wealth of talent and experience. Richard Urbanski, Gordon Coppock and I have been joined by Heather Gorringe, Jonathan Hofstetter, and Lynne Bowers. A long-term Hereford resident with a professional background in health and social care policy, Lynne Bowers is a long‑standing advocate for sustainability, community resilience and climate action across Herefordshire. She’s been active in local sustainability networks for many years, supporting groups across Herefordshire to strengthen community‑led climate responses. Starting and Running a Local Environment Group

HGN is holding a series of Starting and Running a Local Environment Group workshops at which participants can hear about how to set up a group and get ideas for inclusive activities that local groups can organise. On Tuesday February 10th from 10.30am – 12.30pm the third event in the series will be held at De Koffie Pot, Hereford. Register now to join this session and you will be sent more details and the notes from the previous two sessions nearer the time. As the country’s Brussels sprouts become increasingly nervous, it’s time to wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and midwinter holiday. HGN’s steering group is excited as we’re about to welcome a cluster of new members to help HGN consolidate and build. During 2025, there’s been a lot of work at HGN behind the scenes, with big improvements to our website, a significant growth in member numbers, and our new Gold membership for groups that are able to support our work. Starting and Running a Local Environment Group Workshop Ever wanted to start your own local environment group, but not been sure where to start? Join HGN on Tuesday 7th October, 13.00 – 16.00 and hear from people who have already got a group up and running.
