Leominster Community Centre, School Road, Leominster.
On Monday, November 1st 2021, the new Transition Leominster project – a community car-share club – came into being at the launch meeting at the Plantastik Café. Its motto is “More people using fewer cars.” The aim is to provide mobility options for low-mileage drivers who do not need to own a private car or suffer the expense of keeping a vehicle on the road.
We have 2 club cars for members’ use. With the help of a council grant we have purchased a good quality former lease vehicle, a Renault Zoe electric car, and have been given a Renault Kangoo (petrol, suitable for bulky loads). Both vehicles have dedicated parking sites close to the town centre. Club member Clancy Wilson, former business sign-writer, has designed attractive signs for display on the cars providing contact details for prospective new members.
The new club is operating under the wing of the experienced Malvern Hills Car Club which has arranged insurance cover and is working in partnership with Herefordshire Council to assist car-club start-ups around Herefordshire. Leominster is the first of the new clubs to get going! For the time being all ‘back office functions’ such as online booking of vehicles and monthly billing is being handled by MHCC.

You might also like to click on the link to the Malvern club’s website which gives a run-down of costs of car club membership and use of vehicles. Our charges are identical.
If you are interested in joining, please contact the club’s Membership Secretary Bryony John via carshareleominster@gmail.com but please visit the website in the first instance to familiarise yourself with the car club concept.
