Heavily subsidised retrofit support package available to Herefordshire communities
Future Ready Homes, part of local energy charity Marches Energy Agency, are supporting a small number of Herefordshire communities to improve the energy efficiency of your homes to help cut costs, cut carbon and improve your comfort at home.
Thanks to funding from the Energy Saving Trust, FRH can offer you heaps of impartial independent advice and support for your retrofit project at a heavily discounted price. They’ll carry out a detailed assessment of your home and use the latest techniques such as thermal imaging to really understand your home’s thermal performance. A retrofit report, tailored to your home and your needs, will explain cost-effective improvements to make, how to make them, and which to prioritise.
A limited number of heavily subsidised retrofit support packages are available for just £100 + VAT. To apply you must own and live in a cavity-wall house in Herefordshire (Ewyas Harold, Colwall or Ross-on-Wye), and be funding your own retrofit project.
Apply here or email buildingsense@hgnetwork.org.uk if you’d like to find out more or join forces to make this offer available to your Herefordshire community.
Herefordshire community group retrofit training and support
Future Ready Homes primary goal is to help people in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin to cut costs, cut carbon and improve the comfort of their homes by supporting and enabling self-funded quality home retrofit. To be able to help more people, we would like to work with community groups in Herefordshire that share our goals and would like to encourage retrofit in their area.
In terms of what the training/ support might be – it can be driven by you! You and your community’s interests, what you’re already doing, and the resources you have. Some ideas that we’ve come up with include:
· Thermal imaging training so that you can offer thermal imaging to your community as both an engagement and diagnostic tool for retrofit
· Retrofit/ energy saving advice that you could give out to your community through coffee advice mornings
· DIY insulation training
· Retrofit resources for your website
· Attendance at a local event where we can give out advice
If you’re interested to explore this further and what the training might look like in your community email buildingsense@hgnetwork.org.
