Herefordshire’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy

Launch of Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Herefordshire and public consultation

The LNRS is a statutory document required by central government, setting out local priorities and identifying potential actions and locations to restore and protect natural assets and species.

Herefordshire’s new LNRS is one of just 48 nationally. It was developed collaboratively by residents, environmental groups, landowners, farmers, charities, Herefordshire Council and national agencies. It outlines a menu of nearly 100 voluntary ideas and suggestions, alongside existing nature reserves, wildlife sites and unique habitats, that residents, farmers and all types of landowners can choose to pursue with support from the Council and partners.

You can view the identified areas on the Local Habitats Map: https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/lnrsmap

The council are inviting feedback from residents and organisations across the county, including suggestions for further opportunities to improve the natural environment.

You can complete the quick 5 minute survey, or there’s an option to provide in-depth feedback.
