Herefordshire Council refuse and recycling teams are now collecting old batteries and small e-waste on their regular rounds. The trucks are fitted with special containers for them. But don’t put them IN the bin – leave them on top. Put batteries in a separate plastic bag and be sure to remove batteries from any gadgets you’re recycling.
Jackie Jones, HGN Co-chair reports:
“I’ve now tested it – a plastic bag of batteries was collected from on top of my green bin last week, and an old Sky box from the top of my black bin this week. It’s brilliant!!”
