Great Collaboration News

Banter Sessions

The banter sessions organised by the Great Collaboration team continue weekly on a Wednesday lunchtime covering a range of topics. Click here for a list of past and future sessions. The next session, on Wednesday 4th November is on B-lines, and how to support invertebrates and other pollinators in your community.

The change in the weather meant that last week’s session was an appropriate moment to update everyone on what they can do as individuals to keep their homes warm and dry as effectively as possible, and as parish and town and community councils, to disseminate these ideas to as many as possible in their communities.
  • “Energy Efficiency Ideas” with Ben Wielgus, Parish Councillor in Long Sutton, Somerset
Ben laid out three tiers of suggestions:
  • 🟢 Level 1: Quick wins – little or no cost
  • 🟠 Level 2: A little effort – inexpensive improvement
  • 🔴 Level 3: Bigger changes – investments for the future
and he threw in helpful links to websites with more data, and suggestions for those short of ready cash – All Very Topical!
All sessions are recorded, and published in our Knowledgebase, so if you need to look up something from a previous session, or know that you are going to miss this one, then you can catch up later at a more convenient time. The recording of Ben’s session will be uploaded shortly.
For more advice on keeping your home warm efficiently, see the Warm Homes post below.

Banter sessions are free, and open to all, so please feel free to pass this invitation on to anyone that you think could benefit.  Reservations are made here. Members of parish councils, town councils, and community organisations are all typical audiences for these presentations – so do please join!
