Raw Research a casting and project research company, are currently working with the Cabinet Office on a campaign about government investment in communities across the UK, including Herefordshire. They are looking to speak with local people and organisations who have been, or will be, directly or indirectly affected by government funding. This could include residents, community groups, small businesses and frontline workers.
They will visit Herefordshire with a photographer in early November to capture moments of everyday life – people at work, taking part in regular activities or spending time in their communities – with five local individuals or groups. The photographs will be shared online and across social media, and some may also appear on local billboards. The video reel created with the photographs will be led by a poem written specifically about the place, drawing on its history, location and recent improvements. It will feature local groups and locations, with the poem voiced by a local person.
Taking part would involve no more than an hour, and they would be very happy to share some photographs with participants afterwards. Some contributors may also be invited to answer a few questions in a short, informal interview for social media. One or two people may be asked to read a few brief lines about the area to help narrate the reel. Speaking on camera is entirely optional.
They have already filmed in a few locations, so you can see examples of what they’re making here. You can also find out more on the campaign website.
