Day of Action for Rivers & Wildlife

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s annual Day of Action brings together organisations and community groups across Herefordshire.
They will be running activities to highlight the issues affecting our wildlife and watercourses, to take action to improve them for nature and to celebrate the county’s wonderful wildlife.
Events include: Fun by the brook in Belmont; a Beginners Birdwatching session; a River Survey demo and Apple Juicing at Bartonsham Meadows

Online talk: What Makes the Wildlife of Herefordshire Unique? With Toby Fountain
Wednesday 30th September 6.00pm – 8.00pm
The beautiful county of Herefordshire in The Welsh Marches often gets overlooked for the national significance and distinctiveness of its wonderful wildlife.
In this lecture/presentation, Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s Nature Recovery Officer Toby Fountain, a locally prolific naturalist who has lived in Herefordshire for most of his life, will explore the core reasons why Herefordshire’s wildlife is special and unique, exploring both the natural and human influences which are the defining influences on the character of the county’s wildlife, our locally distinctive habitats and species, as well as defining Herefordshire’s significance in comparison with the rest of the UK.

The programme of evening events organised by the Weobley branch of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust starts on 1st October at 7.30pm with a talk on Bats by Stuart Moore from Herefordshire Mammal Group.

Local expert Tony Norman will be in the gallery Sun 11th Oct 2-4pm to chat about the trees. Cuttings available with advice on planting, growing and care.
