A new film documenting the evolution of The Knepp Estate in West Sussex from intensively worked and sprayed farmland which supported very little in the way of wildlife to a rewilded area full of birds, butterflies, insects, native mammals, plants and all the complexity of a fully functioning ecosystem is currently in cinemas: it is on at The Courtyard in Hereford on Tuesday 16th July.
Although a somewhat uncritical look at the project, it is worth seeing for a reminder of just how much wildlife we have lost, and also the stunning photography – the Hobby catching the dragonfly and the Little Owl and the earthworm are particular highlights!
