This weekly newsletter from HGN is sent to our members and supporters, from our members and supporters. The items in the newsletter contain information from the groups that make up the network, so don’t forget to send in your news and events for inclusion in future newsletter. And if you are looking for volunteers, the HGN newsletter is a really good way of appealing for help. The newsletter goes out to over 1000 recipients, both individuals and groups. Many of the group contacts forward the newsletter on to everyone on their mailing list so the HGN weekly newsletter is a really good way of getting your message out to a very large number of interested people.
Twitter/X
The ownership of the social media platform formerly known as Twitter changed in April 2022 and in July 2023 the name of the platform was changed to X. The new owner is Elon Musk, known for his controversial views on a range of subjects. Since he has taken over, many individuals and organisations concerned with climate change and the environment have decided to stop using X.
The Steering Group of HGN have decided that, as Elon Musk’s views are so non-aligned with what HGN stands for, it is no longer appropriate for HGN to use X as a platform to promote its activities.
