CPRE Events

CPRE Herefordshire, a gold member of HGN, is inviting people to join a free walk guided by trustee Paul Lodge through the Ewyas Harold area on Sunday 20th September, 10.00am – 1.00pm. The 5.5 mile circular route crosses Ewyas Harold Common, follows the River Dore towards the site of the twelfth century Dore Abbey, and returns through the Dulas Brook Valley with views across to the Welsh border. It’s part of CPRE’s Love Your Countryside month, marking the charity’s centenary year. The walk is on grassy footpaths and quiet tracks with a few muddy or uneven stretches, so sturdy boots are recommended, along with a rucksack, water and waterproofs. Places are limited to 25 people, and unfortunately the route isn’t suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or dogs. Free parking is available at Ewyas Harold Memorial Hall. Tickets are free and can be booked via Eventbrite.

CPRE, have been successful in obtaining funding for another season of Hedgerow Heroes, starting in October with hedge laying courses then hedge planting from November 2026 until April 2027. Click here to find out more and to book the hedgelaying courses

Volunteers are needed to help with planting – more details here.

For anyone interested in hedgelaying, as part of National Hedgerow Week back in June, the Tree Council held a fascinating webinar all about the subject.
