News from Transition Leominster

The next activity in this year’s Millenium Orchard diary is the summer pruning on 20th July.
Planning
Since the Blessing the Bees event  Tomas and Russell have been meeting to talk about the future maintenance and evolving the design of the orchard and the millennium green. Tomas has an outline plan that can be used for fundraising and getting more people involved.
Everyone is encouraged to get together on the summer pruning day to share thoughts and ideas on this – you’re welcome to come along to the chat even if you can’t make the pruning! Some members of TL would also really like to talk about other ideas for activities in the orchard, like the Blessing the Bees picnic. Let’s brainstorm!
Scything
Before the pruning, Tomas wants to clear some of the nettles to get closer to the trees, so he’ll be there next Saturday morning.
20th July
10.30-12.30 Summer pruning in the Orchard (bring your own loppers etc if you can)
