Volunteer your time and learn how to cast Hempcrete
Andrew de la Haye and Yolande Watson, whom many members will know from Yolande’s presentation to HGN on the Dark Skies Initiative that she is leading on and Andrew’s talk on Permaculture, are planning to build a hempcrete bungalow this year. They have broken ground (their self watering garden is currently being constructed) and now starting to schedule in their contractors.
They are looking for 4 volunteers over 5 days to help them cast hempcrete in June – exact dates to follow next month when they know the date the timber frame company will be erecting it on site. They have already assigned a builder who will provide training on site.
They don’t expect the same 4 people to come every day but want to give people who might be considering a similar build, a chance to get hands-on experience.
They have the necessary insurance in place and all the volunteers will be given refreshments at the start of the day at the onsite H&S briefing, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
