HGN Meetings

Although the COP27 meeting taking place in Egypt is not having the impact in this country that last year’s event in Scotland had, it is a vital meeting for the future of the world so it is encouraging to see the next generation getting involved: students from HCA are organising a Pecha Kucha event to mark the end of the COP meeting and they are inviting others to join them. Closer to home, many are concerned about the state of the River Wye: there are details in this newsletter of recent media reports on the problems, and a chance to see a BBC Wales programme and discuss the issues raised. At the HGN AGM in November, we will hear from Cllr Ellie Chown about Herefordshire’s Climate and Nature Partnership Board, its work and achievements, one year on from its establishment. For more details of all of these, and more, read on.

The Herefordshire Green Network AGM will take place on November 23rd by Zoom. We are delighted that our guest speaker will be Ellie Chowns, Herefordshire councillor since 2017 and leader of the council’s Green group. Put the date in your diary now: details of how to book will follow.

We are also planning a Members’ Meeting early in December. This will be an in-person meeting to give a chance to share some refreshments with friends at a festive time of year, update everyone on what you and/or your group has been up to during the past year and your plans for the coming year and hear about what HGN has planned. Look out for more details in future newsletters.
