Midlands Forest Network Launch Event

The launch of the Midlands Forest Network will take place at 9.15am on the 7th February 2024 at The Exchange, 3 Centenary Square, Birmingham B1 2DR.

This morning and lunch event celebrates the launch of the Midlands Forest Network development phase, explaining its purpose and value, as well as how you can get involved. Led by a partnership between the Woodland Trust, National Forest Company and the Midlands Engine, the Midlands Forest Network (MFN) aspires to link existing forests and initiatives to create an ambitious new network of woodlands and wildlife habitats across the Midlands. The result will be a web of connected habitats that threads through local landscapes and communities, engaging more people in woodlands and delivering a raft of social, environmental and economic benefits for the whole of the Midlands.

There is a programme of high-profile keynote speeches, including from Sir John Peace, panels and interviews engaging the audience with:

  • What is (and is not) the Midlands Forest Network and how is it adding value?
  • Local Nature Recovery Strategies and the MFN
  • Green finance & investment and the MFN
  • Community engagement and the MFN

The launch event will run from 9:15 – 14:00 with lunch for all attendees between 13:00 – 14.00.
