“Practical Soil Assessments that YOU can do on YOUR farm”

 Thursday 24th November, 12.30pm – 3.00pm

At Boycefield Farm, Dilwyn, Hereford, HR4 8JF(courtesy of James and Lucinda Lewis).  This workshop with Lucinda Lewis (Wye & Usk Foundation) will give an introduction to carrying out some basic soil assessment tests, with the aid of the Soilmentor App. 

The workshop will cover:-

·         Accessing information about the Soilmentor tests

·         Simple practical tests that you can do yourself at home

·         How to plan your soil testing regime

·         How this can help with your ongoing evidence for the Sustainable Farming Incentive

·         How the results of the tests can aid management decisions to increase farm profitability

 Going out in the field to carry out these tests will be part of the workshop, so please come dressed for the weather!!

If you have a smartphone, please bring it with you.

Light lunch on arrival (please notify of any dietary requirements when booking).

“An Introduction to the new SFI Soil Standards”

 Monday 5th December, 2.00pm – 3.30pm

At Norton Canon Village Hall, Kitty’s Lane, Norton Canon HR4 7BW.

This workshop with Lucinda Lewis and Ben Nott (Wye & Usk Foundation) will cover what we know about the new SFI Arable & Improved Grassland Soil Standards, the application process and evidence keeping requirements including soil assessments/management plans.
