There will be a public meeting at the Left Bank venue on Wednesday 20th September, 7pm-8.30pm facilitated by Professor John Whitelegg to promote a 20mph policy for all roads and streets where people live in Herefordshire (all towns and villages).
67% of all car trips are 1-5 miles in length; 17% are under 1 mile in length. 20mph is a proven policy that reduces transport’s very high carbon emissions (over 30% of the total for Herefordshire) and supports a shift from car to walk, cycle and bus with multiple benefits for road safety, physical activity and public health.
As part of this campaign, all Herefordshire councillors have been contacted, asking them to support a move to 20mph speed limits in built up areas.
