Eco-friendly vision for Southside Project

Local sustainable building specialists Arbor Architects has fought off competition from 66 other practices to win the commission to deliver the Southside project. Louisa Foti from Growing Local CIC comments, “We are completely and utterly delighted to have Team Arbor on board and super excited for their passivhaus vision of The Southside! “

The Arbor team will be working with Growing Local CIC, Belmont Wanderers FC and NMITE to create a sustainable building which will host a community cafe, field to fork cook school, learning spaces, changing rooms and toilets. Outline planning permission was granted by Herefordshire Council last month which, as Chris Tipping from Belmont Wanderers FC explains, puts the project “on the journey to an amazing green and healthy, super vibrant space for all to enjoy.”

The Southside Project is part of Stronger Hereford – fifteen projects transforming the city by 2025. Another of the projects, Hereford Cycle Track, opens this Saturday 23rd September. For more news and details about Stronger Hereford, Click here.
