Creating a Community Led Hub

Zero Carbon Guildford and The Surrey Climate Commission held a discussion on collaborative climate action across communities in Surrey and beyond. Click here to view a recording of the event during which they chatted about how they created climate hubs in Surrey, as well as what councils can do to support community-led climate action.
With the climate crisis escalating, it is essential that communities begin working together to plan for a changing planet. This involves collaboration within communities, between residents, schools, business, councils, churches, universities, as well as collaboration between independent local communities, offering support, guidance, and learning from each other’s successes and mistakes.
ZERO is an example of this work becoming a reality – a climate education and engagement hub created by the Guildford community, as the focal point for beginning collaborative efforts to build a community-led climate action plan which helps the borough achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

We are grateful to an HGN member for letting us know that this event was taking place and to the organisers for sending the recording.
