The Herefordshire Food Charter is now Live

Launched last week at an HGN gathering, we’re delighted to say that the Herefordshire Food Charter is now live.

Food is pivotal to our economy, our society and our environment and nowhere is this more apparent than in Herefordshire. The Food Alliance in Herefordshire has launched this charter as a focus for both individuals and businesses to find solutions together. They are aiming to build a strong network of people dedicated to a thriving and sustainable local food economy, finding the places everyone can agree and taking action for better food together.

Food has a huge economic, social and environmental impact and working together the charter can address this here in our county.

The charter means that individuals and organisations can pledge to Grow, Source, Choose, Cook, Eat, Share – and not Waste – good food.

It enables support of what’s going well and joining together to address the challenges.

Read the full text on the charter page– what do you already do? What would you like to encourage others to do?

Please:

  • Sign the charter, either as an individual or a business
  • Encourage your employer, your local veg box, your community shop, your school – to sign. Wherever people eat – that’s where the food system is!
  • Stay in touch and tell HFC what more you are doing – and what more everyone can do together.

Sign the charter here. Read more about it here.
