Fully funded home energy assessments and retrofit plans

The new Future Ready Homes scheme, which HGN’s BUILDING SENSE initiative is collaborating on with local energy agencies, provides a two-year action plan to encourage and support home energy retrofit across the Marches area.

It offers (a limited number of) fully funded home energy assessments, whole house retrofit plans, support through the installation process and access to an invaluable expert panel to provide technical expertise — particularly on the harder to treat properties such as those with solid wall construction. In Herefordshire and Powys, the scheme is delivered by the professional energy team at Severn Wye Energy agency, and in Shropshire by Marches Energy Agency.

Future Ready Homes is open to all home owners in Herefordshire and Powys who are looking to upgrade their home to make it more comfortable, save energy and reduce their carbon footprint. It’s open to households that can finance their own retrofit, and to ones eligible for support via government schemes.

The scheme is looking out for applicants from a wide range of different building types, and for people who are interested in going forward with retrofit, so applications will be looked at carefully – but if you apply and aren’t successful, HGN’s Building Sense scheme will provide information on how to start your retrofit journey.

By the way, lots has been going on behind the scenes with BUILDING SENSE – look out for a special newsletter and our own website section soon!
