Saving the River Wye Meetings

Many groups continue to campaign about the state of the River Wye.

 

On March 14th there is an online meeting organised by the City Branch of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust on ‘Monitoring the River Wye’. A chance to hear Fiona Groves of the Wye & Usk Foundation talk about her work monitoring water quality, her electrofish, invertebrate & diatom surveys. Fiona is also overseeing the 3 year algal boom investigative study of the Wye and we will get the opportunity to hear about this study and some of their initial work.

A progress report has just been published setting out some preliminary findings and recommendations from The Cabinet Commission set up by Herefordshire Council, for Restoring the Wye.
