Green Energy Forecaster

National Grid ESO, in partnership with other groups have developed a Carbon Intensity Forecast with regional breakdowns. From this,  WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) have developed the WWF Green Energy Forecast. When there is lots of sun and wind, electricity suppliers are more likely to use renewable sources for power. Overcast and calm weather increases the reliance on fossil fuels. With the WWF Green Energy Forecast you can find out when the greenest and dirtiest hours of the day will be, up to 24 hours in advance which means you can plug in electric appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers at the greenest time of day.
