Colwall Greener’s Free Eco Festival will be taking place this Saturday 9th November 1pm – 4pm.
“Start where you are; use what you have; do what you can”.
Aimed at those interested in making their homes more sustainable, and with free access for all, visitors to Colwall Village Hall will enjoy stalls from energy related companies, expert talks, children’s activities and the opportunity to pick up eco-friendly gifts for the festive season.
The Festival will be opened by Dr Ellie Chowns, our North Herefordshire Green Party MP, and will focus on the theme of energy efficiency, which simultaneously keeps us warmer, reduces utility bills and helps the environment through a reduction in fossil fuel use.
A Colwall Greener spokesperson said: ‘Individual actions make a difference, and the Eco Festival aims to provide local people with the information needed to take action and, in many cases, save money too.’

For those wanting to reduce energy usage and save money this winter, the Eco Festival is not to be missed with advice on retrofitting, solar PV, heat pumps, thermal tracing, internal and external insulation, grants available to assist with all of the above and renewable energy providers.
For those looking to get ahead and purchase thoughtful and sustainable gifts for Christmas, there will be juice and jam from Colwall Orchard Group, local crafts made from local wool, plastic free household products and gifts from print textile designer, Helen Simone Johnston.
Children’s activities will include a book and colouring corner, “design your dream home” challenge and craft activities from Wooly Circus.
Three local homeowners, who have recently completed retrofit and/or green energy projects will also be available to share their experiences and provide tips.
The Eco Festival will showcase a wide range of organisations including, Herefordshire Green Network and their Building Sense Project, Octopus Energy, Malvern Solar, Arbor Architects, Energy Tracers, Evolve Energy Solutions, Future Ready Homes, the Home Upgrade Grant Scheme and more.
This free event is supported by the Malvern Hills AONB and in collaboration with Colwall Orchard Group, the Great Collaboration and the Colwall WI.
