News from Low Traffic Future

The Low Traffic Future alliance was set up 3 years ago, by Transport Action Network, bringing together groups and individuals with a shared desire to bring about a less car-dependent future, locally and nationally. Their membership includes 30 national organisations, with interests in the environment, health, road safety and sustainable transport.   They sent out an online survey, inviting your views on how Low Traffic Future can best support you in pressing for a low traffic future in your area.

Big Bike Revival Grants Now Open for Summer 2025

Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival is back and offering grants of up to £3,500 to help local groups run events that get more adults cycling. The programme is all about encouraging people to use cycling for everyday journeys – whether they’re learning to ride for the first time or just need a little motivation to get back in the saddle. Events can take place any time from now until 31st October 2025, and applications are open now until 14th July. News from Low Traffic Future

The group ‘Low Traffic Future‘ feel that early optimism that this Government would “move fast and fix things” on sustainable transport has unfortunately faded somewhat. They still await a new Integrated National Transport Strategy (as promised by previous Transport Secretary Louise Hague before her mysterious departure from her role). However it has also become clear that the Labour leadership are determined to build roads and the wrong kind of homes in the wrong places, on the premise of generating economic growth. Low Traffic
