Carbon Literacy for the Community course

Sustainable Chesham is offering anyone interested in making a difference in their community a subsidised place on a day’s training course, where they can become certified as “Carbon Literate”. During this 8 hour course participants learn how individuals and community groups really can make a difference, as well as gaining an understanding of climate science and how to talk about it with others. Myths are dispelled and the biggest impact solutions discussed.  Attendees say that the course increases their confidence in talking to others around the topic and their understanding of the facts and urgency.  Others say they knew the science

Petition against airport expansion

Flight Free UK set up a petition earlier this year in response to the recent approval of Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airport expansions. They are asking Parliament to listen to the advice of the Climate Change Committee and not to expand airports. Airport expansion is bad for people living near to airports because of an increase in noise and air pollution, and will also result in rising emissions, at a time when everyone should be doing all they can to reduce emissions.
