New Climate Crisis Film A new film about the climate crisis, produced by Global Documentary called System Update – Rebooting Our Future featuring leading academics, experts, and change‑makers from across the UK, has just been released. The film calls for a reboot of outdated systems that have have failed to appropriately respond to climate change. It’s free to watch and completely non-profit. The organisation Climate Emergency UK are about to release what they describe as ‘the biggest dataset ever created on UK council climate action’. They have created Scorecards to help campaigners hold their council accountable on their pledges to mitigate climate change and biodiversity loss. Flight Free UK have set up a petition in response to the recent approval of Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airport expansions. They are asking Parliament to listen to the advice of the Climate Change Committee and not to expand airports. Airport expansion is bad for people living near to airports because of an increase in noise and air pollution, and will also result in rising emissions, at a time when everyone should be doing all they can to reduce emissions.
