Grant Funding Available

Apply by 03 April for Veolia’s Environmental Trust Funding. Veolia are awarding grants towards projects that make improvements to community facilities and the natural environment. Grants are available for both Community Projects, to create or improve publicly accessible spaces for the benefit of the community, and Habitat and Biodiversity Projects, which fund improvements to or the creation of natural habitats. Apply by 08 April for The William Sutton Prize for Sustainability. The Clarion Housing Group are looking for breakthrough ideas in new homes and existing neighbourhoods that can actively contribute to the restoration and preservation of our natural world. Submissions are welcome

Dawn Chorus Walk

Volunteer needed to lead a Dawn Chorus Walk The parish footpath officer in Little Birch just south of Hereford, organises a Dawn Chorus Walk in April each year that usually attracts about 25 people. A local farmer provides a breakfast on the return from the walk and participants are asked for a donation for the food and a local charity. Normally a local person leads the walk and shares his knowledge of the birds heard. Unfortunately, he has recently had a knee operation so is unable to lead the walk this year. The footpath officer is looking for someone who could help out:

Six Inches of Soil

Hosted by Herefordshire Food Alliance and Sustainable Ledbury Monday 27th January 6 – 9.30pm Food, Film and Q&A Come and join an evening of learning and discussion at Burgage Hall in Ledbury! A screening of the thought-provoking film “Six Inches of Soil” followed by an engaging Q&A session with local farmers and growers.
