The Midlands Net Zero Hub is running a couple of Community Energy Fund webinars to promote the scheme and help communities learn how to develop energy projects on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Through the Community Energy Fund, community groups can receive grants of up to £140,000 to support the initial but critical feasibility phases of a project. The funding is aimed at kickstarting community-owned clean energy projects by looking into the feasibility of small-scale wind farms, rooftop solar partnerships, battery storage, heat networks, and more. Severn Wye Energy Agency has been working with Herefordshire Council to deliver £7m in government grants to improve the energy efficiency of Herefordshire homes and make them warmer and healthier. The good news is that the income threshold has now increased to £36,000 per household. You may qualify for fully funded energy efficiency improvements if you: live in Herefordshire; your home has an energy performance rating of D, E, F or G; you don’t have mains gas heating in your home; and your total household income is under £36,000.
