Hay Festival has just finished. One of the speakers was the inspirational Robin Wall-Kimmerer, a mother, scientist, botanist, decorated professor, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, which has earned her wide acclaim. In conversation with James Rebanks she drew on her expertise and experience as an indigenous woman to show how other living beings offer us gifts and lessons, even if we’ve forgotten how to hear their voices. Later she was interviewed for BBC Radio 4’s Start The Week
