Capital grants of up to £35,000 are available to help businesses invest in new equipment, processes or technology to help them grow and reduce their carbon footprint through the UKSPF Business Enterprise Fund. The (Regulation 18) consultation on the Draft Herefordshire Local Plan 2021 – 2041 has now been launched. The document sets out the planning framework for the county for the period to 2041 and covers issues such as housing provision, the economy, retail and town centres, infrastructure provision and the environment. It will also set out policies by which planning applications will be determined, in addition to allocation land for new housing and commercial development and associated infrastructure. Severn Wye Energy Agency has been working with Herefordshire Council to deliver £7m in government grants to improve the energy efficiency of Herefordshire homes and make them warmer and healthier. The good news is that the income threshold has now increased to £36,000 per household. You may qualify for fully funded energy efficiency improvements if you: live in Herefordshire; your home has an energy performance rating of D, E, F or G; you don’t have mains gas heating in your home; and your total household income is under £36,000. Herefordshire CC is hosting events across the county to give people the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the Local Plan and Local Transport Plan. The Local Plan sets out how development in the county will support housing and employment growth until 2041, and the infrastructure needed for their delivery, while at the same time achieving the Council’s social and environmental objectives. The council are also undertaking some early engagement with members of the public and key stakeholders on a new Local Transport Plan for the county. This engagement runs alongside the Draft Local Plan Regulation 18
