Hereford Council are pleased to invite you to an upcoming webinar for Parish and Town Councils – Nature Recovery Mapping in Herefordshire, taking place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 12:45 – 1:45pm. Herefordshire Council has published a draft map identifying areas throughout the county that are a priority for nature recovery. This is part of the national Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), and aims to address the need for existing wildlife sites to be bigger, better, and more joined up. Local residents who are off gas and have a household income up to £36,000 can still apply for a Home Upgrade Grant (HUG), which will fully fund energy saving improvements to their home, but time is running out as the applications are due by October 31st 2024. The European Centre for Environment and Human Health along with the University of Exeter are recruiting participants to take part in a new study. The ‘Poo-Sticks’ river swimming study is looking to find out how wild swimmers might acquire antibiotic-resistant bacteria, also known as ‘superbugs’, in their gut microbiomes.
