Free webinar training from Keep Herefordshire Warm

“Energy Use in the Home and Fuel Poverty Awareness”

Keep Herefordshire Warm, Herefordshire’s energy advice charity, are offering free training to everyone working in their community, front line staff and volunteers.  The CPD accredited training is packed with useful information that will help your clients stay safe and warm in their homes. There is growing evidence that cold homes have a huge negative impact on a person’s wellbeing and health. We will also be looking at indoor air quality and how high humidity levels can affect asthma sufferers and those with respiratory problems.

This course will help you;

  • learn how to assist clients/patients save energy and money while keeping warmer and healthier at home
  • identify issues around the home and know how to make referrals for extra support
  • understand the health effects of fuel poverty, how these can be minimised, and identify those at risk.

Thank you so much for the training last week. It was a really engaging session and I am already finding it useful. ‘ Information & Advice Worker

The training can be run online or (hopefully!) in person once restrictions allow. Anybody who completes our full range of training session will receive a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) accreditation.

We are able to offer training sessions for individuals from a mixed range of organisations, or for one organisation specifically.  If you are interested in energy awareness training for your team, we can run the training for you directly provided you can get a group of 10+ people together.

Our CPD accredited training consists of four sessions, covering:

  • Covid 19 and Cold Homes
  • Energy Welfare
  • Energy Funding for the Home
  • Saving Money and Energy

We can run these sessions split up, as 20-minute webinars, or all together in a 1.5-2-hour training session, which would likely be in person and would provide an opportunity for some extra activities and a Q&A.

We are also able to offer more bespoke training opportunities. These could cover any combination of the above topics or can be tailored to your needs as an organisation. Recent examples of longer sessions have covered Healthy Homes & Energy Welfare, and Energy Savings Tips and Funding (the combination of these two would also give you CPD accreditation!).

We would be happy to attend a team meeting to deliver any of these sessions or for you to suggest a time/date that works best for you.
