Local action groups are part of a large network supported with plenty of expertise, training, resources and lobbying power. They're made up of people like you, and together they’ll bring about big systemic change.
Kington KLEEN love their town with its beautiful buildings and green spaces within and around it. They want Kington to be as beautiful as it can be, just as they want our whole planet to be.
Transition Leominster is an umbrella group for the following activities:
Repair “cafe” – held once a month on the first Saturday with refreshments available and a regular plant stall – swap or buy. Tool sharpening available.
A regular social on the second Wednesday of the month at a local pub.
A Carshare club has been successfully established and now has three cars.
The Community Choir has sung at various Community events in the last year including our own Seed Swap in February. They meet on Tuesday evenings. Their gentle cycle to a local cafe meets the third Wednesday of the month – meet on Corn Square at 10 am.
Wednesday afternoon weekly Circle dancing is held at Leominster Community Centre.
Transition Malvern Hills has had a number of successes in building community and resilience through initiatives such as regular social events, a car club, saving the gas lamps, a garden-share scheme, reskilling workshops, supporting the establishment of The Cube community centre, and providing home energy surveys.
