Gentle Angry Women film screening – Cardiff

‘Gentle, Angry Women’ is the latest documentary film by award-winning Cornish film company Awen Productions. The story follows three young women as they retrace the march from Cardiff to Greenham Common, forty years on from the first Women’s Peace Protests.
The film has just won the Celtic Media Festival award for History (Screen) and director Barbara Santi believes that, in light of current conflicts, the message of Gentle, Angry Women is more relevant than ever.
“In a time when young people are grappling with climate crisis, global conflicts, and technological isolation, they need to see how previous generations of ‘gentle, angry women’ faced seemingly impossible odds and refused to give up. This history belongs to them, and they have a right to claim it.”
There will be screenings this month in Abergavenny and Cardiff.
This special screening will be at Chapter, Cardiff followed by a Q&A discussion with Poppy, one of the incredible young women who features in the film.
