Zero Carbon Britain: a climate emergency action plan

Paul Allen – external relations officer at the Centre for Alternative Technology and project leader for Zero Carbon Britain – is coming to Hereford next Tuesday to talk about the challenges posed by climate change and the solutions available today.

Rather than zero carbon being an unresolved technical challenge, it is increasingly accepted that we must overcome a mix of political, cultural and psychological barriers to get there. Allen will show how we can rapidly reduce UK greenhouse gas emissions to net zero using current technology, at the speed demanded by climate science; and how we can do this while maintaining a modern standard of living, and meeting our energy demand at all times with 100% renewable UK energy sources.

The talk is at St John’s Methodist Church, St Owen Street, Hereford HR1 2PR, on Tuesday 1 October, 7pm for 7.30pm start. Free admission – donations welcome. This is a Millichap Peace Fund talk.
