Wye Unnecessary Plastic

Members of HGN joined a meeting of Wye Unnecessary Plastic (Wye UP) last week to see how we can develop a similar working group here in Hereford to complement the wonderful work that Wye UP are carrying out in Ross on Wye.

The Ross group were delighted that we are so interested in what they are doing. They are happy to share their ideas for minimising plastic use by businesses and individuals in their town.  They are targeting local independent businesses and via a regular column in the Ross Gazette are helping to influence and change individual’s behaviour and expectations.

Wye UP have agreed to share with us their logo and other resources to use in carrying out similar work in Hereford – so many thanks to them for this support!  The Hereford group will meet with Wye UP again to discuss using the resources in more detail and will then work with a volunteer group to begin visiting businesses in Hereford.

So please do get in touch if you’d like to be involved in this work – admin@hgnetwork.org – and we’ll keep you updated with news of further action.

  • This is an admirable cooperation and i would like to help but, due to my age and other things: the only help I could offer is to email others for the group, any good ?

    • Hi Roy, thanks ever so much for your interest in being involved with our Plastics Action group – if you’d like to email Kate (kate@hgnetwork.org) she will be able to put you in touch with the Plastics group to see if your offer of help can be snapped up. Averil
