What’s Happening…

At our HGN Members Meeting last week we caught up with activities from HGN groups, projects and individuals from around the county.

Lots of good ideas were shared, and some important projects were highlighted – such as the Save Mortimer Forest campaign in the north of Herefordshire. There are full details of the issues & concerns of local residents here on their website: www.save-mortimer-forest.co.uk

We heard details about plans for the Hereford Community Land Trust, and caught up with the impressive early activity of the new group Plastic Action Here! #PAH have their own facebook page and are inviting local people to ‘Adopt a Shop’ in order to support us all change our plastic ways… Click here to like the Plastic Action Here Facebook page and get involved in this local campaign.

There are some great events coming up – including in Leominster on 14th July a showing of the inspirational film In Our Hands. Hosted by the Herefordshire Green Schools Project and Transition Leominster at the Leominster Community Centre there will be a chance to taste a fine array of local produce from 6pm, with the film showing at 7.30pm.

We talked about h.Energy of course – with exciting plans evolving… as you will see form other posts.

And the Crowdfunder for h.Energy has just a FEW HOURS to go! Please show your support for this long-lived local festival by throwing in a quid or two: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/h-energy-2018-help-make-it-happen

Full minutes of the meeting are top of the list here. Do have a read.

And add to your diaries that the next HGN Members Meeting will be from 5 – 6.30pm on Wednesday 19th September, venue to be confirmed.
