Update from Power for People

Dear Transition Leominster,
I write with some excellent news regarding the campaign for the Local Electricity Bill: Good Energy have become the first national energy utility to publicly endorse the Bill. This comes after an exciting few months which have seen the number of supportive MPs hit 200, and the likes of Black Environment Network, Environmental Justice Foundation, Green Energy Together and Energy Saving Trust all giving their support for the Bill as well. We now have 56 county and local authorities, 385 local organisations and 55 national organisations on board.

The momentum that we are building up is really encouraging, and it’s important that we keep up the pressure on MPs. To that end, would you be willing to write to your local MP(s) and ask that they support the Bill and to encourage other members of your group to do so? It is thanks to the efforts of supporters that the campaign has continued to grow so quickly, and the more local people that MPs hear from, the better.
If you’re not sure whether or not your MP has supported the Bill yet, (Bill Wiggin has not) we have a full list on our website here: https://powerforpeople.org.uk/the-local-electricity-bill/support/

Thank you for all the efforts of Transition Leominster in helping the campaign so far. Do please get in touch if you have any questions, or if you would like any advice about what to include in your message.
All the best,  Rupert Meadows
