Temporary measures for car-free Leominster

From Transition Leominster: We have received the following information from Leominster Civic Society:

Balfour Beatty, on behalf of Herefordshire Council, are consulting on changes to traffic rules in Leominster.  Briefly, they propose to ban traffic except for pedestrians and cycles from High Street, West Street, Corn Street, Victoria Street and Corn Square between 10am and 1pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Further the area of the town centre will be subject to a 20mph speed restriction.

These measures are to be temporary, although some would welcome them on a permanent basis.  We will need to make any submissions by 23rd June which is a very tight time-scale.

More detailed information can be found at www.leominstercivicsociety.co.uk/traffic.htm I am sure you will welcome this move.  Please feedback your response by Tuesday 23 June to: Herefordshire.communications@balfourbeatty.com

Annie, on behalf of Transition Leominster
