Online Offerings: Creative Climate Chats from Julie’s Bicycle

Julie’s Bicycle is a London based charity that supports the creative community to act on climate change and environmental sustainability. They have recently launched a series of Creative Climate Chats discussing how to do avoid returning to “business as usual” whilst restoring culture to the thriving community it was at the turn of the year.

Over the next few weeks they will be exploring the dilemmas and difficult choices that this raises through conversations, webinars and campaigns. These include conversations with leading thinkers in culture and climate to discuss the issues, and offer some fixes, from their perspective. Sessions will cover culture in the just transition, new economics for a regenerative economy, the net zero carbon challenge, and climate justice.

The next session (Wednesday 10th June, 16:30 – 17:15) will see Chaitanya Kumar (Head of Environment and Green Transition, New Economics Foundation) discussing what we mean by ‘green recovery’ and ‘green transition’, how we make policy so it reflects the needs and lived experiences of people and communities, and how to translate this in the creative community.
