Online Offerings – Climate Emergency UK free resources

The Climate Emergency UK website has lots of information about and for councils who have declared a climate emergency – and those interested in carbon reduction action: https://www.climateemergency.uk/

They are offering free weekly Zoom Conferences to help to create inspiring action plans for addressing the Climate & Ecological Emergencies.

Every Monday at 1pm we invite you to join other Councillors, officers, experts and residents online to explore working together to create the most effective plans that we can, so that we address the emergencies with the urgency they demand. Book your place to participate live or visit www.climateemergency.uk/events to access the recordings afterwards.”

Their next session is on Monday 11th May at 1pm and is about The Amsterdam City Doughnut. Julia Lipton, Head of Thriving Cities at C40, will be talking about the ‘Doughnut Economics‘ approach to urban development. Applied at the scale of a city/town/village the approach starts by asking: “How can our place be a home to thriving people in a thriving place, while respecting the well being of all people and the health of the whole planet?”
