Online offerings: 4 Tales to Save the World

4 Tales to Save the World (in 4 parts) is a brand new online storytelling event with music and live technology – making space to talk about Climate Crisis.

An Adverse Camber productions collaboration with Welsh storyteller and musician, Gwilym Morus-Baird, it is a striking online performance, transporting us all into the future, thanks to original new writing by four of Wales’ most exciting short story writers – Kate Hamer, Joao Morais, Mary-Ann Constantine and Bethan Dear: all imagining Wales after, and opening up conversations, about the Climate Crisis.

It’s made up of four finely crafted, individual online events taking place every month from September – December 2020; you can enjoy them on their own or any number as part of the whole series. The Void by Bethan Dear is the first part taking place online on Saturday 19 September.

“Hope carried her. It urged her on. Time and time again, she returned to it. There is always hope. Even in the darkest darkness. There is always light to be found.”

Part 1: The Void by Bethan Dear – Saturday 19 September, online at 8pm
Part 2: He Lives Upstairs by Mary-Ann Constantine – Saturday 17 October
Part 3: The Haves and Have Nots by Joao Morais – Sat 21 November
Part 4: The Last Word by Kate Hamer – December date tbc

Each event will feature a live storytelling and music performance from Gwilym Morus-Baird, plus a short film about the author alongside a conversation relating to climate change, plus a Q&A between Gwilym, the author and the audience.

Each of the four tales are set in four different futures, where climate crisis, inequality, mass extinction, identity politics, genetics and artificial intelligence have all left their mark on humanity. Each takes us on a different journey to the future, either finding hope, despair, or the simple humanity of people.
