Next week – free online HGN workshop: Engaging the public on Environmental Issues.

5pm to 7pm on Wed 22nd April via Zoom

“Great workshop to bring real life challenges to a practical learning opportunity”

Join us online for the last of our Spring Workshop series: an introduction to the principles of effectively engaging the public with environmental issues.

We will cover some of the basics of good communication and public engagement, and look at some specific examples, from written resources to face-to-face encounters. From the traditional to the more innovative and creative, find out how best to capture people’s attention and imagination, and engage them with key issues.

David Urry is an experienced science communicator who has worked for the Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens, The Royal Society, Wildlife Trusts and many other science and environmental organisations. He has honed and developed his engagement skills over the last decade and has experience of developing content for online, print and broadcast media, as well as live events and performance. He is also a practised facilitator, host and presenter, both in front of a camera and a live audience.

Participants will be able to email David in advance with any specific questions they would like him to address.
