Newent Climate, Energy & Environment Forum

HGN Members are invited to participate in Newent Climate, Energy and Environment Forum on 20th October 2018 at Newent Community School (10am – 4pm).

The forum is intended to raise awareness, improve understanding and develop practical solutions to the existential threats of climate change, environmental degradation and the loss of biodiversity.

The day long event will focus on the challenges of climate change, the transition to renewable energy, low/zero carbon technologies and farming, and the significant implications for jobs and our way of life.

This is a free, non-partisan, public information event that is open to anyone who wishes to attend.  It will include key speakers (see below), small facilitator-led discussions groups, workshops, trade and information stands, and other engaging activities.

Keynote Speakers include:

  • Dr David Drew, MP for Stroud an Shadow Minister for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs
  • Dr Fran Boait, Executive Director of Positive Money and Labour PPC for Gloucester
  • Prof. Chris Willmore, Professor of Sustainability and Law, University of Bristol

    I wrote to The Guardian today.
    Will keep on writing .
    What a huge anti Brexit march. Imagine a huge save the planet march.
    Must get out to all protests, especially stop fracking.
